Though everyone has their preference on different genres of music, I’m an avid fan of rap and hiphop music, so i’ve made a list of my favorite motivational rap songs to date. Music is a way of expression, so simply judging someone based off what they listen to is very narrow-minded. I listen to basically every genre of music ranging from Nat King Cole to NAS, so here’s a list and i hope you enjoy!
1. Lose Yourself – Eminem
Eminem’s story of how he came about is why he will always be one of my top favorite rap artists. Though a very common listening, here’s the song if you haven’t heard it.
2. People Like Me – K’naan
For those of you who do not know who K’naan is, his story of how he got where he is today is simply motivational and amazing. He was born and raised in Somalia, which is the pirate capital of the world. Somalians face a day-to-day struggle that many of us here in the states have nearly faced. With that said, K’naan, you’re a true inspiration.
3. Victory – Diddy, Busta Rhymes ft. The Notorious B.I.G
This is simply a classic.
4. Rather Unique – AZ
Lyrically, AZ has some of the dopest lines hip hop has to offer. The title says it all.. Be yourself instead of being something you’re not.
5. The Message – Nas
Nas will always be one of my favorite hip hop artists of all time. I can still listen to his album illmatic on repeat.
6. Self Taught – Brother Ali
Though he’s not to well known on a mainstream level, Brother Ali is high up on my list of favorite rappers.
7. Who Gon Stop Me – Jay Z, Kanye West
Though i’m not a big fan of Kanye, I mean.. the name says it all.
8. REVOFEV – Kid Cudi
Where are you at for the revolution?
9. Forever – Drake, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Eminem
10. Ambitionz Az A Ridah – Tupac
No words needed for this one.
There’s no specific order on my top 10 favorites because I all of these are classics.
